Email Alias

Email Alias

Every task in the project within CompleteProject is given a unique e-mail address. This unique e-mail address can be used to track e-mail messages associated with the project or task. One of the downsides of this approach is that the e-mail addresses must be dynamically generated. Because of this, the generated e-mail addresses are not always easy to remember.

To better handle this issue you can set an alias for an e-mail address.  An e-mail address alias is simply another e-mail address that references the same task or project.  An email alias is always in the format userName.ALIAS@tasklist.com.  You are only able to customize the "ALIAS" part of the email.

There are three important rules to keep in mind when creating an email alias:

  • An alias must be between 3 and 20 characters and cannot contain symbols or punctuation.
  • Once created, an email alias cannot be deleted.
  • It is possible to create an alias which already exists.  In this case, the old reference will be overwritten.
